I write

as my most natural and authentic way of expressing myself.

I write diary-type posts, articles, essays and currently working on two books.

I write to slow my mind down, to reflect, to be in contact with my own feelings.

I write about education, childhood, autonomy, care, and the responsibilities adults carry in the lives of children and young people.

I write about writing, researching and my own journey.

Some of my writing takes the form of academic work. Some of it becomes books. Much of it lives in between essays, diaries, reflections, and long-form thinking shared in public.

I publish my reflections and diaries and I share some of my projects on Substack, Instagram, and Facebook.

Book in progress on Self-Directed Education

Dependence, Independence and the Self-Directed Education
(working title)

This book is a deeper and more complex inquiry into what freedom and autonomy actually mean for children growing up.

It emerges from my experience of founding and working within a self-directed school, from years of conversations with parents and educators new to self-directed education, and from a growing tension I observe in contemporary parenting and education: the expectation of autonomy without sufficient attention to dependence, attachment, relationship, and developmental readiness.

The book brings together voices from the self-directed education world: practitioners, parents, and young people, alongside perspectives from specialists in psychology and neuroscience.

Through interviews and reflective analysis, it seeks to hold together concepts that are too often separated: autonomy and connection, freedom and responsibility, independence and care.

This is not a manual for self-directed education, nor a prescriptive “how-to.” It is an invitation to ask better questions, surface nuance, and explore what freedom can look like when it is relational, ethical, and developmentally grounded.

I reflect on my progress in writing this book, and share these reflections on Substack, Instagram, and Facebook.

Book in progress on nature sensory play

Playing in Nature: Sensory Play, Care, and Learning Outdoors
(working title)

This book grows from over a decade of work in nature-based education and from the ongoing Verzui project: a space for sensory play, exploration, and presence in nature, originally created for toddlers and their families.
The book explores what sensory play in nature really is, why it matters, and how it supports children’s emotional regulation, curiosity, and sense of belonging. Drawing from lived practice, observation, photography, and research, it offers a grounded and accessible perspective for parents and educators who want to bring meaningful nature-based play into children’s everyday lives, at home, in schools, or in community settings.

Writing to connect

Alongside books, I write regularly in public spaces as a way of thinking alongside others.
  • Substack - research diary, long-form essays, reflections, and research-informed writing
  • Instagram - fragments, questions, images, and moments from practice
  • Facebook - longer reflections, images, memories, event announcements, and conversations

Previous publications:
Earlier in my career, I published academic chapters and EcoEducația (2010), based on my undergraduate work. While these texts belong to an earlier stage of my professional development, they shaped my path and my long-standing interest in sustainability, education, and care.
I published also chapters in collective books.
